The temple in Saratoga Springs is the first of many Utah temples currently under construction to open. That list includes temples in Layton, Orem, Taylorsville, Lindon, St. George, Tooele, Syracuse, Smithfield, Ephraim and Heber Valley. Renovations are currently underway on temples in Salt Lake City, St. George and Manti. After each of these temples is completed, the church will have 27 temples in Utah. Tours can be booked from the church's website, and everyone is invited to attend.

The free tours include a short video and then a walking tour and lasts about an hour. It is wheelchair accessible and comfortable shoes and modest dress are also recommended, according to the open house information. The flooring is a combination of carpet, area rugs, porcelain tile, ceramic tile, glass tile and stone. The carpet patterns are carved on-site, and the carved patterns were designed by the architectural team and Gregg Johnson of Halfmoon Studio, located in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The grass/wetland design found in the center portion of the hardware and the water design found at the bottom of the hardware is taken from the art glass. The decorative paint was designed by the architectural team and Church designer, with the assistance of Aaron Allen of Allen’s Commercial Arts LLC. Stylized flowers used throughout the temple represent various wildflowers found in the area including the iris, daisy and chrysanthemum. In the baptistry and other areas, stylized lines representing water and waves reference the nearby water in the Wasatch Mountain Range and Utah Lake. This is the first temple open house and dedication in Utah since 2018, when the Jordan River Temple was rededicated. Elder Duncan said as more temples are completed in Utah, the open house dates may be shorter.

One of the owners of a construction supply company was in the Eagle Mountain Utah Porter’s Crossing Stake and wanted to find a way to help youth connect with the temple. At May 2021 seminary graduation, as the temple foundation was being constructed, youth were taught about the importance of building a foundation on Christ and anchoring themselves to Him. Each senior was invited to sign their name to an anchor bolt that would be set into the temple foundation, as a reminder that they would be cemented in Christ and focused on their temple covenants, reported stake President Nicholas A. Davis. More than one stake in the temple district held its traditional pioneer trek event for youth in the area. Its trek ended at the temple site, “where we paused, talked and reflected on the physical and spiritual beauty of the temple,” said Stake President Taner S. Maia.

Reservations are now available online to tour the Saratoga Springs Utah Temple during the public open house via churchofjesuschrist.org/featured/saratoga-springs-utah-open-house. The millwork, doors and standard wood for the temple is a Sapele African Mahogany finished by Granite Mill. The restroom floors have “rug-like” patterns that consist of multiple sizes and shapes of tiles. A custom pattern on the floor in the baptismal font was created by the architectural team and the Church designer.

They have been inspired to build temples closer to the members, wherever those members live. Previously, temple dedications have been accompanied by a youth celebration, but Elder Duncan said there will not be one this time because leaders want the focus to be on the temple itself. He said as the church grows and as members' desire to enter the temple grows, more temples will be built; and as the church builds more temples, even more members are going to the temple. The church found after opening the Draper and Oquirrh Mountain temples, attendance at Jordan River Temple increased because there was more availability. Elder Evan A. Schmutz, first counselor in the Utah Area Presidency, said temples should be a symbol of the lives of members of the church.
